Bonus post! I am starting a new post on the first Wednesday of the month, a post to document the new titles of reel librarian titles I have added to the various movie lists on this site during the previous month. This came about because of a reader’s question and suggestion that I add this usability feature to my site, and it’s actually something I had been thinking about for awhile. So the titles I add to my lists and feature here will not necessarily be newly released films, but rather, titles that I am newly adding to this site. Does that make sense?
Since I regularly post on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month — if you haven’t already, you can sign up to receive all my new posts via email, on the right sidebar — I decided it would make the most sense to include an additional bonus post on the 1st Wednesday of the month, kind of like a fresh start and welcome to each month.

REEL LIBRARIANS 
I think it’s a nice idea. It reminds me that I also meant to alert you to one more. The “Doctor Who” episode “Castorvalva” (Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison), includes a male librarian who is important to the plot. The Doctor comments on a connection between his height (“I am very tall, as you see”) and his being a librarian. We never see the inside of the library (maybe it has high shelves?), but the multi-volume “History of Castrovalva” plays a role in the Doctor’s activities after it is checked out from the library.
Thanks for your comment, and I’m so glad this bonus post reminded you to alert me to adding additional episodes of Doctor Who to my TV Shows list. I had to look it up, and apparently that story had 4 episodes, and the librarian, Shardovan, was in episodes 3 & 4. Interesting! 🙂
This is actually a really good idea and I’ll definitely do something like that on my blog too. There has been one film with a reel librarian I came across recently, Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, as Blinky, a librarian I just wrote a post about (https://popculturelibraries.wordpress.com/2021/08/03/a-zeal-for-the-library-sciences-blinky-the-librarian-in-trollhunters/), appears in a library at the very beginning of the film introducing viewers to the story. I wouldn’t recommend the film necessarily, but I thought that is worth mentioning in any case. Thanks for the shoutout! I always appreciate reading your posts all the time, as its wonderful to have information professional looking at librarians in pop culture, even though I consider myself as more in the archivist area right now.

Great, I’m glad to hear that! He doesn’t get much time as a librarian in the film, and the film is ok…despite some character dying (not saying who), the curious ending, but he is established a librarian earlier in the franchise.
