Film Fest event @ ALA Midwinter

Exciting news! There will be a special film event at ALA Midwinter 2014 in Philadelphia, an event which will include a “Film Fest of fun, quirky, and kitschy shorts about libraries, education, and our host city with time to mix and mingle.”

The After Hours Party will take place on Saturday, January 25, from 9-11 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by EveryLibrary and Mango Languages, with discounted prices for students and free “volunteer” tickets.

I’ve been in contact with the “man behind the curtain,” Daniel Verbit (check out his Google+ profile here at, who had graciously asked me to be part of the event and share my perspective on reel librarians. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend ALA Midwinter this year, but I will be there in spirit! 😀

It promises to be a fun time! And best of all, all the proceeds  go to support EveryLibrary, a nonprofit social welfare organization that works with public, school, and college libraries on local library ballot initiatives.

All the details about the event can be found online here.

And for more library-themed shorts, please check out my Short Films & Documentaries page here.
